Author, Editor, and Founder

Short Biography:

Carol enjoys sharing her expertise and experience in finance, marketing, and strategy and is the author of the original ExecuSpeak Dictionary®. Her career includes leadership positions with large multi-nationals, consulting projects with large and small businesses, and teaching MBA students, executives and adults.

Longer Biography:

Carol’s experience includes a long career in new product development for technical industries after receiving her MBA from Wharton.  After leaving corporate life, she served as COO for a start-up CATV/ISP company, the Director of Operations for an MBA program, and prepared financial models, business plans, and market research studies for dozens of customers.

More recently, she’s taught business planning to degree-seeking MBA students and knowledge-seeking adults.  Volunteer service includes  fifteen years reviewing loan requests for a micro-lender, serving as a judge for the Wharton Business Plan Competition, and as a Business Counselor for SCORE.  She has been a writing coach in the Wharton Communications Program and during 2012 wrote the “Word of the Month” column for TheStreet.com.   ExecuSpeak Dictionary® is the result of Carol’s experience in industry, consulting, and teaching.

She received her MBA from Wharton.

Author Biography:

Carol Heiberger is the founder of ExecuSpeak Dictionary and the author of the original ExecuSpeak Dictionary books, e-books, and apps. She designed this resource to help 21st-century businesspeople communicate more effectively with customers, employees, and international business partners.

Her industry experience includes positions with Ford, Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), and LILCO (now KeySpan), a large energy utility. Her consulting clients have included government entities, not-for-profits, and businesses of every size. She has served as the COO of a start-up CATV/ISP company, director of operations, and adjunct assistant professor for an MBA program. In addition to teaching degree-seeking students, she has taught adult education at the Wharton Small Business Development Center. She has served as a writing coach in the Wharton Communication Program for MBA students.

Her volunteer work includes service as a SCORE business counselor, as a member of the zoning committee for her neighborhood, and on the loan committee for a micro-lender. She is a Phase 2 Judge in the Wharton Business Plan Competition.

Her education includes an MBA from the Wharton School and a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College. ExecuSpeak Dictionary is the result of her experience in both industry and in consulting and teaching.
